Bonnie joined our team in 2014 in the Divorce Wealth Strategies division. Her primary emphasis is on family law, IRS and business matters. She provides a range of services including: valuation of private businesses for divorces, estate and gift taxes, and business transactions; review of opposing professional reports; valuation of deferred compensation (including stock awards, options, defined benefit plans, etc.); examination of income tax issues applicable to the divorce settlement; active/passive appreciation analysis; asset tracing; and integration of the components of settlement including imputed income, alimony, compensation and living expenses.
Bonnie has a broad base of experience in the accounting and business arena. She started her career in public accounting providing audit and tax services for a diverse group of corporations. She was a senior investment officer at both Equitable Capital Management Company and Furman Selz, LLC Investment Bank where she valued and negotiated transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, stock and bond offerings and the restructuring of bankrupt companies. She has served as Chief Operating Officer of a global innovation consulting firm as well as on court appointed bankruptcy committees.
Bonnie earned her undergraduate degree in Accounting at State University of New York at Albany and her Master’s degree at Columbia School of Business in New York. She believes strongly in being involved in professional organizations in her field and is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and Chartered Financial Analysts Institute.
She is a native of New York and currently resides in Winston-Salem with her son, Alex. She is a sports enthusiast and especially enjoys running, skiing, and biking.
